How long have you been writing?

Do you have any published books or articles?

Yes, I have two that I wrote personally. Memoir of my life of pain, rejection, and grief and

the goodness of how, no matter what, you are called that God can

come in and redeem you. And I wrote a 15-day Devotional:

Beautifully Broken from the Heart. I took the traditional route of

publishing and hired a company.

Did you use an editor?

Yes, I did. If so, who? Living Water Books. President: LaDeidre Maris

Did you use a book formatter and cover designer?

Did you self-publish or get traditionally published?

Traditionally published, and the experience was phenomenal. It was a smooth

transition and they helped me tremendously to put the words that I

typed on paper and put them into book form.

How do you market your work and promote your brand?

I network and get companies to promote my work and also by word of mouth. I

had been on several speaking engagements and was able to promote

it that way.

What social media and writing platforms would you recommend?

I used my personal Facebook page; I created a business page on Facebook and Instagram.

What inspires you most to write?

Writing is a release. Expression to show how great God is in the midst of your pain.

What do you do to help with writer's block?

Take a break and come back to it. Once the flowing juices stop, then I have to stop.

How do you plan your writing and start?

God spoke to me to write my book, and that is how the process got started. I sat down one day and I just started until I could not physically stop.

Is writing your full-time job?

No, If not what else do you do? I work Full-Time

What are you working on at the moment?

I am a Co-Contributor on a book that has a release date of 6/26. I plan to write another book to coincide with The Modern Day Jabez. After the Pain, then what? Pain

brings something, so whatever journey lies ahead will be the next

story and chapter.

What is your target audience?

It’s actually for any age. Anyone who has been adopted and has the awareness of their feelings. But most definitely for adults.

How long does it take you to write a book?

It took me a year to write it. I sat on it for 2 years and it took 8 months to distribute and get in the stores.

When did you first discover you enjoyed writing?

The day God spoke to me and told me to write.

What is your writing schedule look like?

I don’t really have one.

What does your family think about you writing?

They were surprised to know when I actually had the time to write because I work two

jobs and was going to school as well.

What do you do when you are not writing?

Trying to relax as much as possible or either helping out friends and family if needed.

Where do you get information and ideas for your writing?

Just living my everyday life. Life lessons are a story in itself.

What do you think makes a good story?

The reality of real life. True stories that a person can relate to. A story that you can cry and laugh with the characters.
